Building a Safer, Stronger Lane County Together

We’re Lane County’s Center for Child Abuse Prevention, uniting evidence-based education and community partnerships to help every child and family thrive.

Prevention Education:

For more than 30 years, Kids FIRST has been Lane County’s Child Advocacy Center. Each year, we support over 700 children who have experienced or witnessed crime, offering compassionate care through advocacy, forensic interviews, medical exams, and mental health services.

But our work doesn’t stop at intervention. Through education and everyday action, we help children, caregivers, and community members learn how to recognize, respond to, and prevent abuse—turning awareness into lasting safety

Kids FIRST Vision:

To empower Lane County’s youth with body safety education—helping them build protective language, confidence, and lifelong skills from an early age.

To equip adults with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to recognize, respond to, and prevent abuse through advocacy, education, and community connection.

Together, we’re creating a prevention-oriented Lane County where children and families are safe, supported, and able to thrive.

Our Amazing Supporters

"At the YMCA, youth protection is at the center of everything we do. Partnering with Kids FIRST ensures our staff receive high-quality, trauma-informed prevention training that truly makes an impact. Their team helped equip our staff with the knowledge and confidence to respond to concerns, build safe relationships, and help every youth feel protected and valued. We are grateful for the shared commitment to keeping kids safe in our community."
